Banana Split

This is a classic American Banana Split recipe made with fresh banana, three scoops of ice cream, sweet syrups, whipped cream, and cherries. It’s easy to prepare, fun to assemble, and perfect for a simple homemade dessert everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 scoop chocolate ice cream
  • 1 scoop strawberry ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry syrup
  • 2 tablespoons pineapple topping (or crushed pineapple in syrup)
  • Whipped cream, to taste
  • Chopped peanuts or walnuts
  • 3 maraschino cherries

 

Instructions

1. Peel the banana and slice it lengthwise.

2. Place the two halves in a long banana split dish or oval plate.

3. Arrange the three scoops of ice cream between the banana halves — traditionally vanilla in the center, chocolate and strawberry on the sides.

4. Spoon a different topping over each scoop:

5. Chocolate syrup over vanilla

6. Strawberry syrup over strawberry

7. Pineapple topping over chocolate

8. Add a generous swirl of whipped cream on top of each scoop.

9. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and finish with a cherry on each whipped cream swirl.
