- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 85 g all-purpose flour (about 2/3 cup)
- 6 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
2. In a bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth and glossy.
3. Add the vanilla essence and salt, mixing well.
4. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling about 3/4 full.
7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the tops are set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
8. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
